Fissure is an ability in the Dragon Quest series. It attempts to open up a chasm to send enemies to their doom.

Dragon Quest VI
Fissure is learned by advancing to Rank 5 of the Sage vocation. The skill is a free version of whack, utilizing the same resistance table. It is useful for players that prefer to conserve MP, but there is a 33% chance for the skill to fail regardless of its target's vulnerability, and cannot be used while at sea.
Dragon Quest VII
Fissure can only be learned by reaching rank 4 of the Golem vocation this time. It has the same aspects as in VI.
