Critical Thinker is a monster trait that slightly increases the chance of a spell going haywire.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince[edit]
Critical Thinker doubles the base chance of a magical mishap, but is not learned naturally by any monster. Instead, it is obtained by equipping either a mage's ring or a sage's ring, which are dropped by lump shamen and mogus respectively. Critical Thinker does not stack with the effects of any other haywire spell trait, but it is voided by Desperate Measures.
