This seems to be a rare case of SENA mistranslating the enemy as Eyepod in the DS release of Dragon Quest V. It's called Heyedra again in Dragon Quest II on iOS/Android, which is more recent source. It's quite clear that the designs are identical in instances where they hang from the ceiling. If someone can confirm with the Japanese names for this enemy, I'm 90% sure that they'll have the exact same Japanese name. I would merge the two articles, but if someone can check the Japanese names, it would be helpful. [[User:Marandahir|Marandahir]] ([[User talk:Marandahir|talk]]) 11:57, 3 June 2016 (CDT)

Eyepod

The Heyedra and the Eyepod are the same monsters, why they have different articles?

They shouldn't. Also, Sign with 4 tildes. Marandahir (talk) 09:43, 3 June 2016 (CDT)

They are not the same. See here and here. The Eyepod hangs from the ceiling. The Heyedra does not. - icysugarspike (talk) 10:13, 3 June 2016 (CDT)

It is interesting to note that the early sprites of the Heyedra did have it hanging from the ceiling. Perhaps, this is where the confusion comes from. - icysugarspike (talk) 10:17, 3 June 2016 (CDT)
That's why I said it, I think this is a case of a monster getting its name changed for x times in a row and someone believing it's a different monster... Eco (talk) 16:27, 3 June 2016 (CDT)
Well, that someone happens to be DD, which is usually a pretty reliable source. I don't know. You could be right..... - icysugarspike (talk) 11:32, 3 June 2016 (CDT)
Dragon's Den is not immune to making mistakes – remember that the Wiki itself is a subsidiary of DD. This seems to be a rare case of SENA mistranslating the enemy as Eyepod in the DS release of Dragon Quest V. It's called Heyedra again in Dragon Quest II on iOS/Android, which is more recent source. However, Dragon Quest V has also released on iOS/Android – but I'm pretty sure they just copy-pasted the translation scripts from the DS version (rather than working it all from scratch). Marandahir (talk) 11:57, 3 June 2016 (CDT)
From DD (sorry): Eyepod インスペクター and Heyedra あくまのめだま - icysugarspike (talk) 12:05, 3 June 2016 (CDT)
The only correct images that came up when I ran the Japanese characters for each name through Google was the Japanese name for Heyedra. The images that came up for Eyepod were, as you can probably guess, strange. - icysugarspike (talk) 12:08, 3 June 2016 (CDT)
