A heyedra is a bizarre monster that hung from the ceiling, introduced in Dragon Quest II. It is a large red eyeball with four feet and twelve tentacles coming out of it.

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai[edit]
Heyedra are used as part of Dark King Vearn's Dark Army. They originate from within the Mystic Legion under Mystic Bishop Zaboera. They are used to spy on the heros, observe battlefields and facilitate communication between the Legions and Hadlar.
