List of faith skills in Dragon Quest IX

Faith skills are learned via the Priest class.

Divination[edit]

Shows how much EXP the party needs to level up. This technique requires 8 skill points to master.

Benediction[edit]

Removes cursed equipment from a party member. Costs 2 MP to use and 28 skill points to learn.

Rotstopper[edit]

Reduces damage dealt by the undead by 50% for 5~8 rounds . Costs 4 MP to use and 48 skill points to learn.

Alma Mater[edit]

Prevents instant death spells from working by keeping the targeted character alive with 1 hit point. This protections lasts 7~10 turns and will work once per character.. Costs 3 MP to use and 70 skill points to learn.

Care Prayer[edit]

Increases the users magical mending by 50% (two levels) for 6~9 turns. Costs 2 MP to use and 90 skill points to learn.

Wave of Relief[edit]

Removes all negative status effects from the party. Costs 10 MP to use and requires the 'Priest's Primer' in the character's inventory to use.

Passive bonuses[edit]

Fully maximizing the Faith skill tree will grant the following permanent bonuses for the character:

  • With 16 points invested into the skill tree, the character's Magical Mending will increase by +20
  • With 40 points invested into the skill tree, the character's maximum MP increases by +10
  • With 56 points invested into the skill tree, the character's Magical Mending increases by +60
  • With 80 points invested into the skill tree, the character's maximum MP increases by +20
  • When the character devotes 100 skill points into their Faith, their Magical Mending will increase by a whopping +100
