Whipcrackle is a recurring whip skill in the Dragon Quest series. It charges up the wielder's whip with electricity to strike enemies.

Appearances

Dragon Quest X

Whipcrackle can be learned by Mages, Thieves, Luminaries, Monster Mashers, and Fortune Tellers by allocating 120 skill points into the Whip skill. It costs 4 MP to use and inflicts 320% lightning damage to a single enemy.

Dragon Quest XI

Whipcrackle can be learned by Veronica through the Whips panel in her character builder for 20 skill points and costs 16 MP to use. It is behind a locked panel and can only be learned when all of her character builder is available. Whipcrackle inflicts 320% lightning damage to a single group of enemies and has a higher chance of landing a critical hit.

Dragon Quest Heroes

Whipcrackle is already known by Jessica when she joins the party and costs 8 MP to use. When used, Jessica will jump up and strike the ground with her whip, unleashing a burst of lightning that damages any enemies caught in it. Like all lightning attacks, it can short circuit monsters from the Machine family.

  • Whipcrackle can be upgraded with the skill Whipcrackle Extender, which costs 5 skill points to learn. It extends the area of effect of Whipcrackle.

Dragon Quest Tact

Whipcrackle can be learned by Bianca at level 38 and costs 67 MP to use. It deals 240% potency Zap-type physical damage and very rarely binds all enemies in a range of three horizontal squares from two squares away from her.
