Etymology
These gauntlets are named after Tempestas, an ancient Roman goddess of storms and sudden weather. Her name is derived from the Latin tempestas, which means bad weather or storm, and lends its name to the English word "tempest". In the original Japanese version, the gauntlets are named after Susano-o, the god of storms and the sea in Shinto mythology.
