The Endor Colosseum is a grand battleground within the kingdom of Endor, and serves as a central location in Dragon Quest IV and Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit]
The Colosseum is first seen in Chapter 2 and serves as the finale of Alena's journey. The Tsarevna is granted permission to participate as an official contestant by the King of Endor, in the hopes that her victory will nullify the grand prize of Princess Veronica's hand in marriage. The King had foolishly made the public announcement that his own daughter would be the grand prize of the tournament when organizing the event and, upon hearing word of Alena's journey from the Tsar of Zamoksva, he gives the capricious youth his full support on the grounds that no woman can wed the Princess. The tournament is six fights long, with the sixth being against the only other person to beat five opponents in a row, Psaro.
Alena fights alone during the tournament with Borya and Kiryl cheering from the side lines. If available, the player is allowed to use items and is asked if they wish to use one or more of their medicinal herbs for use between battles―each opponent will drop an herb upon being defeated. The first match is against a martial artist, Attila the Hunk. The second is against a man who uses a Boomerang, Quick Draw McGore. The third is against Prima Donna the bunny girl, who uses spells. The fourth match is against the knight, Samson Knight. The fifth match is against the Abominable Showman, who makes three images of itself and forces the player to discern the real one from the fakes. After the fifth match Psaro the Manslayer is called out, but he never comes, making Alena the victor of the tournament. The trio returns to Zamoksva to inform the Tsar of his daughter's triumph, but finds the castle to be totally empty, thus closing the chapter.
Later, in Chapter 5, the Colosseum hots the royal wedding of Princess Veronica and her lover Prince Regan of the neighboring kingdom of Ballymoral. The wedding was secured through the covert actions of Torneko Taloon, who aided Regan in preventing his conquest-hungry father from declaring war on Endor by delivering the Prince's written warning to the King of Endor. The King of Endor wisely approves of his daughter's marriage to the foreign Prince and uses the union to preemptively shut down the war.
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince[edit]
Psaro is advised to enter the "monster megabrawl" tournament held in Endor by Monty after the player completes Fizzy's lessons in the tutorial section. The old monster monitor propounds that if Psaro makes a big debut in the tournament then his estranged father Randolfo will be forced to take notice of him, and presents a handy teleportal within Rosehill for easy access. The tournament is held in the Colosseum and consists of eight categories, ranging from G to S, with three opponents per category.
Category G[edit]
Category G has no requirements to enter, and the reward for winning is three medicinal herbs.

Beyond the megabrawl, the Colosseum is important to the narrative as it is where Psaro first encounters Rose: the poor elf was being auctioned off for her tears but managed to slip away in the riot that broke out over her ruby tears shattering at the faintest touch. She was pursued by her would-be traffickers until they were killed by Psaro, and the two were inseparable hence forth.

Remake[edit]
- As the Boomerang was removed due to later games making it a multi-attack weapon, Quick Draw McGore's weapon is a Hunter's bow, which is reflected in his design.
- Though unnecessary, the remake allows for Alena to use an Medicinal herb or more after defeating the Abominable Showman.
Trivia[edit]
- In The Dark Prince, the middle-aged woman who accepts monster wrangler applicants for the tournament becomes smitten with Psaro over the course of his gladiatorial conquest, going so far as to try and set him up on a date with her daughter.
