"I am sorry to inform you that you are a spoilt brat…
You wish to appear strong and self-reliant, but without the constant support of others, you are helpless…
In order to try and hide this weakness, you often overstretch yourself…
But this is not necessarily a bad thing…
For in overstretching ourselves, we make effort, and in effort lies true betterment…
Who knows… perhaps one day you will become truly self-reliant… That will surely impress your friends…
Why…? Because your friends, too, cannot survive without the support of others… None of us can…
In this sense, we are all spoilt brats… May this knowledge help you to know yourself and others…"

In the Dragon Quest III remakes, spoilt brat is a personality that improves wisdom growth, but reduces strength and resilience growth.
At the start of the game, the hero becomes a spoilt brat by receiving the final test of character in the well. The hero must leave the test after breathing fire on three to six NPCs, but must not breathe fire on the mother or the nun. All NPCs, including the required one at the well and the dog, count toward this total.
Other party members have a chance to be an spoilt brat when recruited as any class, depending on their stat bonuses.
An existing character becomes a spoilt brat permanently by reading the Tears Before Bedtime book, or temporarily while wearing the dummy accessory.
