Assassin's Stab is a recurring ability in the franchise. It may instantly kill a target.
Appearances
Dragon Quest VIII
Jessica can use Assassin's Stab as a knife technique after allocating 22 skill points into the associated skill. The rate of success is based on the foe's resistance to whack. After allocating 100 points, it is replaced by the deadlier Sudden Death technique, which deals an additional 30% more damage regardless of success.
Dragon Quest IX
An attack that possesses a 13% (influenced by foe resistance and vulnerability) chance to instantly kill a target. Costs 3 MP to use and is learned after 58 points have been invested into the Knife skill.
