Godfrey was the head of the House of Gitt and the king of [[Coffinwell]]. His son, [[King Godwyn|Godwyn]], had usurped him to create his empire, and Godfrey was interred in the [[Quarantomb]]. His ghost remained in the tomb, forgetful of his identity. Eventually, the [[Hero (Dragon Quest IX)|hero]] was able to jog his memory by retrieving his [[royal seal]] that was confiscated by the [[Trauminator]]. | |||
