Like dragons in most other tales, green dragons are powerful, boasting impressive stamina, {{Strength}}, and {{Resilience}}, as well as the ability to breath fire. These serpents are more feral than most depictions in other media, however, displaying no ability for language or magic. Green dragons are not stupid though, as one plays an important role in the story of the first game as a boss guarding the [[Gwaelin|princess]] under the orders of the [[Dragonlord]]. | ||

The green dragon is a rarely appearing monster in the Dragon Quest series that was introduced in Dragon Quest.
| Dragon Quest monster | |
|---|---|
| Green dragon | |
Art by Akira Toriyama | |
| Japanese | ドラゴン |
| Romaji | Doragon |
| First appearance | Dragon Quest |
| Old localization | Dragon |
They are powerful, scaly beasts of legendary status.
CharacteristicsEdit
In appearance, green dragons are quadrupedal and wingless, their underbellies an orange-brown shade. Like dragons in most other tales, green dragons are powerful, boasting impressive stamina, Strength, and Resilience, as well as the ability to breath fire. These serpents are more feral than most depictions in other media, however, displaying no ability for language or magic. Green dragons are not stupid though, as one plays an important role in the story of the first game as a boss guarding the princess under the orders of the Dragonlord.
AppearancesEdit
Dragon QuestEdit
While this monster can be found in the overworld, a specific one is guarding Princess Gwaelin in the Quagmire Cave, and must be fought to rescue her. This Green dragon was no different from it's brethren originally, but was given a full boss promotion in the remakes.
Dragon Quest I HD-2D RemakeEdit
There is only a single, titanic green dragon in the game and it has been given a unique set of sprites, owing to its status as the first boss in Japanese RPGs.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of SalvationEdit

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten PastEdit
Green dragon appears as the boss at the end of the Lizard's Lair DLC Tablet, which is based on the original Dragon Quest.
