Helm Splitter is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series. It reduces the enemy's defence for a handful of turns with the exact amount varying between games.

Appearances[edit]

Dragon Quest II HD-2D Remake[edit]

Helm Splitter is learned by the Prince of Midenhall at level 9. It costs 7 MP to perform and deals 90% Strike-element damage to one foe, with a 2/3rds chance to lower it's defence for 4~7 turns before resistance to Sap is applied. The souped-up version is Scrap Mettle.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]

In the Nintendo 3DS version, Helm Splitter can be learned by advancing to rank 4 as a Gladiator or rank 2 as a Champion. It costs no MP to use and has a chance to reduce the enemy's Defence by 50%. Since it is an advanced skill, it can only be used by those vocations.

It can be used by the enemies Lieutenant kernel and Splitting headache.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined[edit]

Helm Splitter is learned upon reaching rank 5 of the Heir Apparent vocation.

Yangus can use Helm Splitter as an axe technique learned after investing 6 skill points into the associated skill tree. It reduces a foe's defence by 50%, effectively casting Sap on them.

  • In the 3DS version, it reduces defence by 25%.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit]

This ability is learned with 35 skill points invested into Axe skill.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]
