The demon whip is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest franchise. You may want to think twice before equipping it though...

Dragon Quest VIII
The demon whip has an attack bonus of +72, and is cursed, stunning the wielder 25% of the time. It can be purified into a scourge whip if you mix it with saint's ashes in the alchemy pot.
Dragon Quest IX
The demon whip has an attack bonus of +72, and is cursed. It can be upgraded into an archdemon whip.
