In the Dragon Quest III remakes, lout is a personality that improves luck growth, but reduces agility, resilience and wisdom growth.
At the start of the game, the Hero becomes a lout by receiving the final test of character in the theater. The hero must play dumb to the guy asking about marrying the dancer.
Other party members have a chance to be a lout when recruited as any class, depending on their stat bonuses.
An existing character cannot become a lout through items.
