Characteristics
Dark denizens of the sea that slide onto ships to strike in the biggest storms, splashing so fiercely that can strike anyone in range with their sharp spiny bones so savagely that they cause cuts and rip right through skin.

The Dread herring (formerly BoneFish) is a monster in the game Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. It can be found in the Ocean on the PlayStation version's Disc 2.
