Effect

The Bunny tail is a recurring accessory in the Dragon Quest series that first appeared in the Super Famicom remake of Dragon Quest III. The effect the Bunny tail brings the user tends to vary greatly from game to game.

Appearances

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation

Increases the wearer's Luck by 8. Wearing it changes a character's personality to Happy camper. It can be bought in the town of Khoryv for 270 Gold Coins. It only appears in the remakes.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen

The Bunny Tail is an accessory that increases luck by 8. It only appears in the remakes.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past

Increases style by 2. Costs 270 Gold. Can be equipped by all characters. The only accessories that increase style by fewer points are the Scholar's specs and the Wrecked specs (ふるびためがね, known as Spectacle in the old localization), which both increase style by 0. Yet this item has no other upsides to make up for this, aside from selling it for a bit gold.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

The Bunny tail increases agility by 2 and can be bought for 50 Gold Coins and sold for 25. It can be made into a Bunny suit or with the Bunny ears through Alchemy.

Recipe: Bunny ears = Bunny tail + Hairband Recipe: Bunny suit = Bunny tail + Silk buster

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

Described in game as "A fun and fluffy fashion item." Can be bought for 240 gold in Porth Llaffan and Zere and sold for 120 gold. Every vocation can equip it. It is also needed for a few alchemy recipes.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

The Bunny tail increases the wearer's item discovery and their agility. It is a rare drop from every member in the Bunicorn family of monsters.

Dragon Quest Swords

They can be sold for 5 gold, but not bought. Bunny tails have a defense bonus of +1. They are found in the field and in Lucky bag.
