Brake Wind is an ability introduced Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker. It works like the Backdraft skill in the main series and bounces back breath attacks once, but is superior in that it covers the entire party instead of just the user.

Appearances[edit]

Dragon Quest II HD-2D Remake[edit]

Brake Wind is the souped-up version of the Princess of Moonbrooke's Insulatle. It costs 15 MP and reflects all breath attacks used on the Scions of Erdrick for 3~5 turns, with the bounced breath attacks dealing double damage. Oddly Brake Wind does not cover Burning Breath, Poison Breath, or Sweet Breath in this game as it does in the DQM spin-offs.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker[edit]

The Brake Wind lasts for one turn and reflects Fire and Ice breath attacks, as well as all ailment-inducing breath skills, once when activated. It can be learned from:

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2[edit]

Brake Wind has the same properties as before and can be learned from all the skillsets it could previously, though Bird Brain now requires only 80 points.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D[edit]

Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key[edit]

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3[edit]

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince[edit]
