Red mould is an item that appears exclusively in Dragon Quest VIII. It is a vivid scarlet piece of mould that is used in Alchemy for cheesemaking.

	A chunk of mould with a fiery red colour. Used primarily for alchemy.

Pieces of red mould can be found in barrels and pots in Ascantha, Pickham, the Swordsman's Labyrinth, and Empycchu, as well as being purchasable for 35 gold from Princess Minnie's Castle and Argonia after the bazaar starts. It can also be dropped by Giant moths, Morphean mushrooms, Kissers, Paprikans, Hipsters, Wailin' weeds, Lump shamans, Mushroom mages, Lesser demons, Magic dumbbells, Blood mummies, and Buffalogres. It can be sold for 15 gold.
