Tomokazu Sugita (杉田智和, Sugita Tomokazu, born October 11, 1980) is a Japanese voice actor. His first role in the Dragon Quest series was providing the voice of Ishmahri of the Moonshadow Land in the Nintendo 3DS version of Dragon Quest VIII in 2015. Sugita eventually went on to provide the voice of Ragnar McRyan starting in Dragon Quest Heroes I+II in 2017 and Vince Vanquish in the Definitive Edition of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age in 2019.

Trivia[edit]

  • As a boy, Sugita was a fan of the Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai manga and its original anime, in particular being fascinated by the character Hyunckel's voice actor, who had a much deeper voice than he imagined.
  • In the anime Gintama, Sugita voices a character named the Leukocyte King that wears an outfit similar to that of the Hero of Dragon Quest III.
