Thug (translated as bully in the Game Boy Color Version of Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation) is a personality in the Dragon Quest III remakes, in Dragon Quest X, and in Dragon Quest: Monster Parade.

At the start of the game, the Hero becomes a thug by receiving the final test of character in the desert. The hero must tell Dickie to leave the his brother behind without giving him the canteen and head back to town alone.
Other party members have a chance to be a thug when recruited as any class with the exception of mages and priests, depending on their stat bonuses.
An existing character becomes a thug temporaly by wearing the Tough guy tattoo accesory.
