In Dragon Quest IX, the hero begins the game as this class. It has limited healing and damaging spells on top of the ability to weild Fans, Swords, Whips, and shields. The spells and the levels they are learned at are as follows. I have notices nothing outstanding about this class except it is the Jack-of-All trades (though his high charm stat make enemies stop attacking sometimes falling in "love" wit your hero). Paladin Cristoff, The minstrel can be a great added healer or early sub for the mage to be replaced by a mage eventually. They also can fill a slot as a hybrid of a Lvl 15 Mage Lvl 18 Warrior and a Lvl 12 Preist
