A Platioso (plural: Platiosi) is essentially any given monster that is sporting one or more Platypunk tails. This generally marks them as members of the Plob, with more tails meaning higher status in the organization, although not all Plob members are Platiosi and not all Platiosi are Plob members since the player can convert them by sending them back to town (only applies to normal enemy Platiosi, not bosses).
Other than acting as status indicators, the tails don't seem to provide any benefits, though they never encumber a Platioso either.
The name is a portmanteau of the words "platypunk" and "mafioso", a member of a mafia organization.
