Gourmand (おおぐらい ōgurai, translated as unique in the Game Boy Color version of Dragon Quest III) is a personality in the Dragon Quest III remakes, in Dragon Quest X, and in Dragon Quest: Monster Parade.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation[edit]
In the Dragon Quest III remakes, gourmand is a personality that improves strength and resilience growth, but reduces agility, wisdom, and luck growth. It has the lowest overall growths of any personality in the game and is strictly worse than lazybones for growths.
The hero cannot become a gourmand at the start of the game.
Other party members have a chance to be a gourmand when talent scouted at Patty's Party Planning Place, depending on their stat bonuses.
An existing character cannot become a gourmand through items.
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake[edit]
The gourmand personality has been buffed to focus on durability, and now increases strength by 10%, increases resilience by 30%, decreases agility by 40%, increases stamina by 10%, decreases wisdom by 50%, and decreases luck by 20%.
