Dragon Quest X[edit]

The spell returned to the main series after a lengthy absence on September ninth, 2018 with version 4.3.0 of the game. It is no longer classified as a spell and is instead the Coup de Grâce of the Gadabout vocation. Due to the nature of X being an MMO with several players cooperating at once and paying a monthly service fee, the amount of risk involved in using Hocus Pocus has been almost completely removed, with the gambling theme of the spell being shifted to getting an effect appropriate for the situation or one that isn't as helpful.

Dragon Quest Monsters 2[edit]

Chance now requires 420 Intelligence to learn. It is naturally learned by the WonderEgg.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

The Hero can use Hocus Pocus via his Command Selection ability. The spell costs 4 MP, and will produce one of the following effects:

Trivia[edit]

  • Hocus Pocus doesn't use the typical ethereal ribbons lined with runes that other spells do in the 3D games, instead dropping a lottery box into the Gadabout's arms and activating once they pull out a numbered ball.
