In the chamber, the party encounters a wounded wolf and the [[Ruff|young boy]] who was chained up in [[L'Arca]], along with an enormous stone coffin, which they open. The boy lets out a warning to the {{Party 7}} and they are confronted by Hackrobat, who mocks the party for being in league with the wolves. Hackrobat is a boss faced in the Grotta del Sigillo on the island of L'Arca in Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past.

Strategy[edit]
The chamber in which the player fights Hackrobat has a magic seal which means that the party cannot cast spells. Therefore, it is advisable to have the party stocked with Medicinal herbs to heal. Hackrobat can attack twice in one turn. He can also blind the party with Dazzleflash, making their attacks miss more often. Finally, he can use Wind Sickles which can knock off 30-40 HP. In the Nintendo 3DS version, the chamber no longer seals away the party's magic, making the battle easier. Maribel should start the battle off by casting Sap on him and the Hero should cast Buff on the party, particularly Maribel. It is also possible to put him to Sleep with Maribel's Snooze spell since he has low resistance to it.
The Woodcutter also fights with the party but his physical attack is lacking. He will, however, use herbs to heal the party. Do not count on him if your party members are seriously hurt, though. The Hero should use physical attacks all the time, stopping only to heal should it become necessary. Kiefer should use Flame Slash all the time. Maribel should be given herbs and heal the party when their HP reaches 25 or so. In the PSX version, if she has the Retaliate skill, she can cast Dazzleflash and WindBeast on Hackrobat if she is hit with it. As long as the player keeps attacking and keeps their HP up, the fat fiend will fall.
