The Thiefs Key is an item in Dragon Quest III. It is the first key acquired in the game. The key is held by an old man at the top of the Tower of Najima. The key is able to open yellow doors.

The various locked doors require either the Magic key or the Ultimate key.
Location
The Thief's key is provided by Cap'n Max Meddlin' when the hero's tally of handed-in mini medals reaches four.
