The magical skirt, also known simply as skirt, is a recurring piece of clothing in the Dragon Quest franchise. Designed for women, it protects against magical attacks.
Appearances
Dragon Quest III
The magical skirt has a defence bonus of +25 and can be equipped by any class as long as they are female. It can be purchased for 1,500 gold at Theddon and 3,000 gold at Asham by haggling. One can also be found on the fourth floor of the Pyramid, hidden behind a door locked by the Magic Key.
Dragon Quest IV
Appearing only in the remakes, the magical skirt has a defence bonus of +45 and reduces all magical damage (save for zap) by 33.3%. It can only be worn by female characters.
Dragon Quest VI
It can be bought for 6,700 gold in Sorceria and prior to that is found in the Seabed Shrine. It has a defense bonus of +45, reduces non-zap spells by 20, and an Style bonus of +35.
It can also be found occasionally by fighting Wraithwands.
