Quick scouting (フィールドスカウト firudo sukauto) is an alternate monster scouting method that is performed on the field instead of in battle, expediting the recruitment process considerably.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World[edit]
Quick scouting is performed when Bianca or Nera chuck a hunk of meat at a monster while exploring the overworld. This prompts their respective parties to perform a show of force just like a normal scouting procedure, and quick scouting can be repeated as often as the player as edibles in the inventory.
