The amber drackies appear scarcely, but the player can force an appearance by using a camera rotation trick on Cinderback Ridge. Travel to Redscale Rise station and make way to the northeast, stopping before a plateau with a fire place and several Orc chieftains. The drop off the before this plateau has a flock of Drackolytes resting around a lamp post; retreat from this point until Mia or Erik is standing right before a metal staircase and rotate the camera until one of the drackolytes is swapped out for an amber dracky at the edge of the game's draw distance.
