Strategy (HD-2D Remake, Draconian difficulty)

The initial fight at the Tower of Rubiss isn't that bad. Just make sure to run the full complement of 7 Asbestos Earrings to neuter Kafrizz and Inferno, keep buffs up and clear out the Ashdemon support and he shouldn't be too much of a problem.

His rematch in the bottom of Zoma's Citadel is a different story. Blasto being a possibility as soon as the fight starts combined with 2-3 actions and Thwack throws reliability off the table, as Asbestos Earrings stacking won't save you now. However, unlike the older versions, he is not immune to Snooze this time around, with ~50% resistance like the King Hydra. Therefore, the strategy is still the same: have the Duplic Hat holder outspeed him with Snooze to deny him as many turns as possible. As long as the Duplic Hat holder isn't Thwacked or ejected by Blasto, the party should have little issue surviving the rest of the boss' moveset, and due to a lack of passive regeneration on the boss, the player shouldn't have much problem simply healing off any damage taken during the turns where the Soul of Baramos isn't asleep.
