Ridgeraiser

Ridgeraiser is a spell in the Dragon Quest series. It impales a group of enemies with a series of stalactite spears.

Localization historyEdit

ジバルンバ was first localized as Ridgeraiser in 2017 with Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End. It strayed from the series' tradition of using ka- and -le prefixes and suffixes, but would remain in use until Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince was released in 2023 where ジバルンバ was localized as Kacraggle. This second localization was more in-line with the standard set by Richard Honeywood.

Due to the oddity of there being two sets of names for one line of spells this article will only cover the instances in which Ridgeraiser is used over Kacraggle, as well as the untranslated games in which ジバルンバ appears.
