The hate mail is a recurring set of armour in the Dragon Quest series. It appears to be made out of the corpse and bones of a demon and often boasts a high amount of defense, but it is a cursed piece of equipment, having a chance to paralyze the wearer.
It is stated in infernal armours' bestiary descriptions in Dragon Quest X and Dragon Quest XI that people who wear the hate mail will be turned into those monsters.
Appearances[edit]
