Magic bikini
The magic bikini is a special outfit in the Dragon Quest series. This beach outfit for women provides some protection against harmful magic.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of SalvationEdit
The magic bikini has a defence bonus of +40 in the NES version, +65 in all remake versions, and reduces magic damage taken by 33% in the GBC version. It can be equipped by any vocation as long as they are female. One can be obtained from the owner of Asham's theater after speaking to Lena in Damdara's inn. Merkings also have 1⁄64 chance to drop them as well. It also changes the wearer's appearance outside of battle. Each vocation has a different sprite in the Super Famicom and Gameboy Color version, but the merchant's sprite is used for every lady (aside from the female Hero) in the iOS/Android/Switch port, though the colors vary depending on the vocation.

The magic bikini has a defence bonus of +50 and reduces damage taken from Frizz, Sizz, and Bang spells by 15. It can only be worn by Jessica, whose appearance changes accordingly. It can be purchased in Arcadia for 13,800 gold.
- In the Nintendo 3DS version, Red can also equip the bikini, but it will not change her appearance. Like some of Jessica's other outfits, the bikini has been changed to be less revealing to comply with the Japanese CERO ratings board. It can now also be dropped rarely by Merkings.
