The Battle pip is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, being introduced in Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. They are tiny axe-wielding faerie warriors.
Characteristics[edit]
Armed with a massive axe, these awesome little adventurous monsters stand out from their brethren thanks to the bothersome damage they can dish out with their battle axes, if they can actually land a hit without falling flat on their faces. They wear dark blue shorts covered with a blue leaf used as a loincloth, a grey breastplate, and a distinctive blue acorn with a spike on top worn as a helmet, which covers the pip's eyes.

The battle pip, along with its companions, are named after the mythological Korpokkur, a diminutive race of people in the folklore of the Ainu people of northern Japan. They were once said to live in harmony with the Ainu and would bring them deer, fish, and other goods, but after a schism, they disappeared.
