Green great [[Beast family|apes]] with purple faces and ears that prefer heavy foliage to fields. The main difference from their brown-furred cousins is their ability to call for backup to assist them in battle, but the apes will still flee when threatened. They made a reappearance in the series in ''IX'' after a 22 year absence.

The Big badboon is a recurring monster in the series, first appearing in Dragon Quest II. It is a variant of the Badboon with a green coat of fur.

Description

Green great apes with purple faces and ears that prefer heavy foliage to fields. The main difference from their brown-furred cousins is their ability to call for backup to assist them in battle, but the apes will still flee when threatened. They made a reappearance in the series in IX after a 22 year absence.
