"Strike" skills refers to miscellaneous, damage-causing abilities within the Dragon Quest series. Though no true theme connects the techniques, each one shares the same resistance table in the games they appear in. Though as of 2015 no official term has been presented from Square-Enix, the most common fan monicker will be used as a place holder.

Strike skills is a fan term that refers to miscellaneous, damage-causing abilities within Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation, Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past, Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, and the first two Dragon Quest Monsters games. The classification within those five titles contains both martial arts techniques such as Knuckle Sandwich and rock-based attacks like Boulder Toss, with the hypothesis behind the shared category being that a fighter would have to have fists of stone/rock-hard hands to deal such damage barehanded.

The trait was seemingly retired in 2009 with Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies introducing a proper Earth-element within the game's programming and the martial arts skills being calculated differently, with subsequent titles carrying this standard forward until 2024. The release of Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake revived the dormant skill category and greatly expanded upon it, with nearly every physical attack skill utilizing it for damage calculation.
