Multifists

From Dragon Quest Wiki

Multifists is a recurring martial arts ability in the Dragon Quest series.

When used the practitioner throws light strikes at random targets; somewhat unwieldy for group encounters, the skill is marvelous against single targets.

Appearances[edit]

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit]

Multifists is obtained by mastering the Martial Artist vocation and the user will perform four jabs for half damage per strike, dealing double damage to one target for 0 MP. Oomph works with the skill but only the first jab will have it's power doubled. Furthermore, the skill activates the instant-death check for weapons such as the Demon spear and Poison needle for every strike, making it incredibly useful when hunting Metal slimes.

It is used by the enemy loss leader.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]

Multifists has the same properties as in the previous game is learned by advancing to rank 8 as a Gladiator, along with rank 3 as a Champion in the Nintendo 3DS version. In the 3DS version, it is an advanced skill that can only be used as a Gladiator or Champion but can also be learned permanently by advancing to rank 6 as an Automaton. It now hits for 75% of the attack per hit rather than 50% and costs 2 MP to use.

It is used by the enemies batboons and fighting batboons.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit]

Multifists is a fisticuffs technique that Eight, Yangus, and Morrie can learn. It requires 70 skill points for the Eight, 60 skill points for Yangus, and 68 skill points for Morrie, and each strike will deal 1/3rd of a normal attack. Due to fisticuff skills being classified as their own "weapon" category, the skill can no longer be combo'd with instant-death weapons.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit]

This ability is learned with 42 skill points invested into Fisticuffs skill.

Dragon Quest X[edit]

Multifists can be learned by investing 100 skill points into the Fisticuffs skill. It can also be learned by Healslime as a monster companion by investing 18 skill points into their Healie-Style Martial Arts skill.

  • In the Offline version of the game, it can be learned by the Hero and Mjoll through the Fisticuffs skill in their character builders for 9 skill points. It is a secret skill for the Hero, requiring at least four of the surrounding panels to be unlocked first. It costs 4 MP to use and deals four physical attacks to a single enemy at 50% strength each, and the total damage can be strengthened by 6%, 12%, 24%, and 36% via the same skill tree.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]

Multifists appears as an enemy-only skill that can be used by robber rabbits, king squids, jockilles and their variants. It deals 40% damage per hit, while the version used by King squid and its variants deals 30% per hit.

Dragon Quest Monsters and Dragon Quest Monsters 2[edit]

Known as QuadHits, in this game it is an upgraded form of BiAttack. BiAttack will evolve into QuadHits when the monster reaches level 24 with at least 124 max HP, 112 ATK, and 136 AGL. It can be learned naturally by Jamirus, KingLeo, Orochi, Pizzaro, Roboster, Rosevine, and Skeletor.
