From Dragon Quest Wiki

Stomp, also known as Boulder Bash, is a recurring ability in the Dragon Quest series. It damages all enemies with a tremor, hitting for 50~65 Woosh-type damage for 0 MP. It has a 13rd chance to fail regardless of terrain, and will always fail at sea. In later games in the series, the skill began dealing earth-elemental damage instead.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit]

Stomp appears as an enemy-only skill used by the Drakulard in the bonus dungeon, the [ Fungeon.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit]

Stomp is learned by advancing to rank 4 of the Ranger vocation.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]

As there is no Ranger vocation in VII, Stomp can only be learned by reaching rank 6 of the Golem vocation and rank 1 of the Paladin in the 3DS remake.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit]

A handful of enemies will throw their weight around in IX, dealing anywhere from 15~19 damage to 90~108 damage. Naturally, the obese Drakulord hits heaviest with the skill. Stomp's element has switched from wind to earth as well. This marks the first time the skill has not dealt 50~65 damage.

Monster Damage range
Garth Goyle 15~19
Stone guardian 24~30
Drastic drackal 27~32
Gadrongo 33~41

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]

Stomp is an enemy-only skill that can be used by Mosstodons and Snowgres. It inflicts around 50 earth damage to the entire party and no longer has a chance to fail, even when used at sea.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker[edit]

Boulder Bash costs 8 MP to use and deals around 80~100 earth damage to all enemies. In this game, it does not have a chance to fail. The skill can be learned with 60 points in the Cluboon skill or 24 points in Cluboon II.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2[edit]

Boulder Bash now deals a combination of Bang and Donk-element damage. It can still be learned from Cluboon and Cluboon II. The skill can now also be learned from:
