The Muddy hand is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series.
Introduced in Dragon Quest II, it was originally a Material monster, but has been re-classified as a member of the Undead family in many installments in both the main series and its spinoffs.
Characteristics
Muddy hands are animated human hands made of mud. They have the annoying ability of summoning other muddy hands or even other monsters, prolonging the length of a battle. However, this can be a secret blessing as the player gains the experience of defeating the extra monsters. Furthermore, the dirt clods are never totally immune to instant death so patient players can continuously wipe out whole groups if they are lucky.
