The Golden Tiara (also known as tiara or spellward circlet) is a piece of headwear in the Dragon Quest series. Designed for women, it guards against various status ailments.
Appearances
Dragon Quest III
Unlike other games in the series, the tiara is an accessory. It increases luck by +13, changes the wearer's personality to Ladylike, and can only be worn by female characters.
Dragon Quest IV
The golden tiara has a defence bonus of +12, and protects against confusion. It can only be worn by female characters.
Dragon Quest V
The golden tiara has a defence bonus of +45. It can only be worn by female characters.
Dragon Quest VI
Dragon Quest VII
The tiara has a defence bonus of +43 and an appearance bonus of +50. It can only be worn by Maribel and Aira and protects the wearer from silence, sleep, confusion, and blind.
Dragon Quest VIII
The golden tiara has a defence bonus of +43. It can only be worn by Jessica.

Dragon Quest IX
In this game, the golden tiara is an upgraded version of the silver tiara that can be created with alchemy, while the golden tiara is known as the spellward circlet. Also, unlike other games, the spellward circlet can be worn by male or female characters.
