The Iron maiden is a monster first introduced in Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, but was later retroactively added to Dragon Quest X in the game's 5.1 update. Iron maidens are essentially a scaled-down, recolor of the boss Dora-in Grey.
Characteristics
Iron maidens take the form of a beautiful doll with a red and black dress, long flowing blonde hair, and a large cage as their lower half, which is used to trap people inside. Being large dolls possessed by the ghosts of young girls, they seek to keep permanent playmates by trapping them in their cages after mesmerizing them into submission. Owing to their exquisite craftsmanship, the iron maidens are not easily impressed and thus strongly resist being charmed themselves.

Etymology
Iron maidens take their name from the infamous European torture device of the same name, in which the tortured person is placed inside a metal container lined with spikes. These metal boxes were often forged in the image of women.
