Dragon Quest[edit]

Mobile | Instantly returns you to the safety of the castle |
The 1989 manual to Dragon Warrior provided the following info for the wings: "Another legend has it that, when lightning strikes and kills a Wyvern, its wings fall down to earth with their magical flying powers still intact. Using these wings will bring you back to Tantegel Castle."
Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line[edit]
Game | Description |
Instantly returns you to the safety of civilization.[1] |
Chimaera wings can be purchased in most shops and return the player to the last save location visited, exactly as the as with the Return spell.
Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation[edit]
Chimaera wings are more useful than before, allowing the player to select his or her destination from a list of visited locales instead of whisking them away to the most recent save spot. The Zoom spell enjoys a similar utility.
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake[edit]
As with the Zoom spell, chimaera wings can now transport the player to the entrances of dungeons, shrines, etc.

Dragon Quest Builders[edit]
(In-game description} - "A fastly tied fan of fluttering feathers. Instantly transports you to your base." Made from 5 chimaera feathers.
Dragon Quest Treasures[edit]
Chimaera wings are exceptionally handy in this spin-off as they allow Erik and Mia to retreat back to Eggshell Island with all their acquired loot in tow; using the built-in evacuation option in the game's menu means dropping all those precious baubles in transit.
