The Golden Axe is noteworthy for being one of the few weapons that decreases in attack power when "upgraded", which reflects the real world status of gold being a soft metal. However, this developer prank is mitigated by the fact that the Golden Axe can be upgraded into the much more powerful Moon axe and King Axe.
