Evil Clown links here. For the EvilClown from the Playstation version of Dragon Quest VII, see Wrecktor.

A whackolyte is a monster that first appeared Dragon Quest II.

In the old localization of Dragon Quest II, they were known as "Evil Clown" ("EvilClown" in the GBC version), but they are a different monster from the "EvilClown" that appeared in the old localization for Dragon Quest VII (Which is now known as Wrecktor in the modern localization).

In the original NES version, a Whackolyte (known as "Evil Clown" in the old localization) can be fought in Lorasia Castle. It is an optional fight that the player can elect to skip if they so choose. It carries the Lightning staff when the player defeats it. In the remakes, they were replaced by a Wrecktor (known as "Magus" in the old localization of DQII for Game Boy Color).
