Etymology
- In the original Japanese version, the manticore's name Ragonne is based on the dragonne, a magical beast that appeared in the Monster Manual of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, a roleplaying game that was released in 1977. It is said to be a cross between a lion and a brass dragon.
- A manticore is a monster from Persian myth, described as a lion with the face of a deformed man and a long scorpion tail.
