The Circle of Conquest is a major region of Nadiria, being the seat of the underworld's political power and the home of Randolfo the Tyrant.

AppearancesEdit

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark PrinceEdit

The Circle of Conquest encapsulates the essence of a world of demons perfectly, having dark skies flashing with perpetual lightning storms, jagged rock spires that jut out at unnatural angles instead of mountains, and bubbling lakes of poisonous muck. The ground is of a darker colour and resembles peat moss more than typical soil, explaining the abundance of alien but lush flora. The Circle also seems to be the highest point of Nadiria as players can spot the Circle of Temper and the Circle of Fortitude in the distance within the lower and middle echelons.

Seasonal changesEdit

  • Spring: the peculiar flowers that resemble the rafflesia arnoldi bloom, and will let Psaro ride the winds to higher grounds once he takes hold of one.
  • Summer: the toxic lakes dry up in the heat and allow Psaro to retrieve the submerged treasures and monster eggs.
  • Autumn: rock spires and natural arches erupt from the ground to grant access to different areas.
  • Winter: the toxic lakes have become totally frozen and treadable, granting access to the treasures on the islands.

Lower echelonEdit

The lower echelon is the first part of Nadiria the player will have access to after receiving the red travelite from Furgil after winning Category G at the Endor Colosseum. The key locales are the Maulosseum where the infernal counterpart to the Endor competition is held and the laboratorium where Dr. Helix Helix conducts his experiments. The echelon giant monster is the lumbering lizard rooted in the underpass near the laboratorium.

Middle echelonEdit

The mid point of the region is a field of glowing flowers dominated by Mt. Shellenback, which houses the forbidding Grimglow Cave and the imprisoned Wyrmsworth. In the shadow of the mountain is the peaceful Dun Maulin, a settlement separated from the landmass on a small floating island which consists of monsters too exhausted to continue their violent lifestyle. The echelon giant monster is the gnumesis patrolling the field of hellish flowers.

Upper echelonEdit

The dominion of Randolfo the Tyrant, who rules with an iron fist. The Circle is in fact the portion of Nadiria seen in the finale of Dragon Quest IV, and as such the key locales are the Hopeful Haven and the Four Dens of Nadiria, along with Castle Nadiria under the new name of the Conqueror's Keep. The final giant monster for the Circle of Conquest is the dark sabrecat stalking the northwest.

TriviaEdit

  • The aesthetic for the Circle of Conquest is taken from the Fungeon room where Foo Yung and Chow Mein are fought in the PSX, DS, and smart phone versions of Dragon Quest IV.
