Dark sabrecat
The dark sabrecat is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King as a sable-coated variant of the great sabrecat.

CharacteristicsEdit
The dark sabrecat is a big cat similar to the prehistoric smilodon. It was introduced as one of the monsters originating from the World of Darkness, having a solid coat of black fur. However, in later appearances, the sabrecat's fur was changed to a midnight blue instead with black spots all over its body and a dark magenta mane running from the top of its head down its back, as well as a tuft at the end of its tail. Perhaps the feline's most striking feature is their solid set of dark magenta eyes, which sets it apart from its lighter coated cousins. It eventually gained a juvenile form, the dark sabrecub, in later games, as well.
