AppearancesEdit
Dragon Quest XEdit
Starstrike can be learned by Mages, Thieves, Luminaries, Monster Masters, and Fortune Tellers by investing 35 points into their Whip skill. It differs from most whip skills by targeting a single enemy with the physical strike itself, but the burst of light-elemental energy also damages surrounding enemies for 40% of the initial strike's total. The dazzle effect can last for up to one minute.
- In the Offline version of the game, it can be learned by the Hero as a Mage, Thief, or Luminary and Duston through the Whips panel in their character builders for 5 and 7 skill points respectively. It inflicts 100% light-elemental damage to a single group of enemies and has a chance to dazzle them, as well. The skill's damage and status ailment infliction rate can be increased further with skill-up panels.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive AgeEdit
Starstrike can be learned by Veronica and Sylvando through the Whips panel in their character builders for 14 and 6 skill points respectively. However, Veronica is only able to learn the skill after her character builder has been expanded in the postgame. It costs 5 MP to use and deals 110% light-elemental damage to one enemy group, with a 25% chance to dazzle each target.
Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's EndEdit
Jessica will learn Starstrike at Whip proficiency level 2, and it costs 11 MP to use.
Dragon Quest WalkEdit
Starstrike can be learned from various whips, including the Spiked steel whip and Gringham whip, and costs 5 MP to use. It inflicts 120% Bang-type physical damage to a single enemy and has a chance of enveloping them in illusions.
