A wyrm composed of weeds, the Dragonthorn is a story-related monster debuting in Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. In it, they are the product of Dhoulmagus' curse set upon the kingdom of Trodain.

Etymology
- A Snapdragon is a real-world plant, scientific name Antirrhinum, found in rocky regions in Europe, North America, and Northern Africa. They are named such due to their resemblance to European dragons.
